I had lusted after a CSL since Circa 1983 ( as a then 22 year old and have quite a few stories to relate re them ) several times I nearly took the plunge but the rot and the costs scared me off ! I'n late 1985 I viewed and drove 2285425 Fjord Blue , The Reading Car , but gave it a miss . Another time I almost bought a very nice orig Fjord Blue one at Chelsea , but couldn't sell my TR6 I'n time.
I had given up hope of ever owning one , when by sheer chance I stumbled upon her I'n early 2010 .
She was bought new by 007 Shaun Connery , I'n July 1973 from Pennine Motors ( main BMW Distributors ) of Leeds . Very little is known about her history with him , but by 1980 she was owned in Newcastle by a real Character called Frank Hedley . He bought her for his wife Pauline and she carried the reg no 900 PH . Previous CSL enthusiast owner bought her I'n Scotland I'n 1999, drove her straight back to Suffolk , parked her I'n a garage and there she sat until I viewed her .
