The BMW 3.0 CS (VIN 4300477) was manufactured on May 22nd, 1975 and delivered on August 26th, 1975 to the BMW importer in Arabian Gulf. The original colour was “Siena brown-metallic”, paint code 009.

I believe I am the 4th owner. I purchased this ’75 EUR LHD back in 1987 from Rob Siegel, the 3rd owner but short-term owner. Rob also had a ’73 CSI at the time and settled on keeping the CSI. He informed he had recently purchased the CS from the 2nd owner in Cambridge MA but that ownership length is unknown. The story goes on that the original owner was in the oil industry and made the purchase while in the ‘Arabian Gulf’ and imported the car when moving back to Texas. So between 1975 and 1987 the car had three owner and spent unknown time in Arabian Gulf, Texas and Massachusetts. It presently resides with me in Chicago.

The Saudi heat and sun persuaded the original owner to paint the car white (but not Chamonix) – as it sits today. A PO swapped out the tan interior and I now have seats from a 2800CS. Aesthetically, I really like the vertical pleats of these earlier seats.
