In December 1968 when BMW first produced the 2800 CS, they were all left hand drive. They were very expensive in the UK, partly due to Import Duty and partly the exchange rate. BMW Concessionaires started importing them through Dover in October 1989 in small numbers and for an extra ?313 (1969 prices) they could be converted to right hand drive.
Believed to be one of the very the first UK market CS coupes, 2201276 was delivered on April 11th 1969 and converted to right hand drive. Consequently the car uses a 2002 clutch slave cylinder fitted into the combined brake master cylinder/servo. With this system the brake pedal movement is transferred hydraulically across the car.
I am the third owner and the car has been restored twice.
